Photographer's Note

The Cathedral of Saints Peter and Donato is placed on the top of the hill where the city was built on the site of an early Christian church, and perhaps the place where once stood the acropolis town.
The construction has taken place since 1278, has had different phases, ended only in 1511. The façade was built between 1901 and 1914, replacing the previous, unfinished, of the fifteenth century.
The imposing Gothic interior is rich in works of art, including the main La Maddalena by Piero della Francesca, built between 1460 and 1466, where an experimental use of an innovative light gives vitality and strength to the plastic figure, depicted as if you were ushering from a bow.
