Photographer's Note

Pinzolo is a small town situated in Rendena valley in Trentino in the northern Italian Alps at an altitude of 800 m. it lies between the Adamello mountains group and the Dolomiti di Brenta.

It is mainly known as a ski resort during the winter months

the church you see is San Vigilio. as it appears today is the result of successive enlargements, the most important of which occurred in 1515, of an ancient church prior to perhaps the xi century, erected in honor of the bishop Vigil, martyrized
around 400. It was the parish church of Pinzolo and Carisolo, until the division of the parishes and the subsequent construction of the church of S. Lorenzo in Pinzolo. It is famous for its artistic altars, for interior frescoes and especially for "The Dance of Death", a fresco on the facade outside South side.
