Photographer's Note
Ok, the Grand Canyon in Arizona is unique, but we have something like a "Little Grand Canyon" where the sedimental layers are very well visible. Therefore, last year an educational path with explaining plates has been made through the valley of Bletterbach, close to the village of Radein. Though I read the explanations very thoroughly I am not sure to recognise the diferent layers on this shot...

Hi Guenther,
This is a really great picture with beautiful nature! A huge ammount of colours of the rocks is vissible! The people show us how high this is! Very well done! :-D
Have a nice weekend!

Nice shot, Guenther,
I like the texture and colors on the sides of this canyon. I am particularly glad you got some people in there for perspective.
Good job,
Best wishes,
Matt

Very nice, thanks for sharing!

Indeed, that make me think at West US this picture... It's the prove that we can found similar things in europe! I like also this group of people bellow which give the scale. Well done, Guenther!

Hi Guenther.
Very nice shot which I couldn't bypass ! The layers here look really like triassic sandstone and marl deposits, but it can be a mistake... What is sure is that these rocks have formed under continental conditions, with presence of oxygen (red color is characteristic of iron and other oxydes). The people down the composition give a good scale info. Thanks a lot for sharing !

Hi Guenther
Good use of repetition in the compositional elements. Excellent sharpness & the people add scale & context. Well done!

Bonjour Guenther,

Grazie!!
Ciao
