Photographer's Note
My previous photo from Noto was taken from just in front of the tables of the Trattoria al Buco, seen in the bottom right corner of this shot. You can see the steps of the Chiesa di San Francesco d'Assisi all'Immacolata too, and further left a statue of the Virgin overlooking the Canopy of the Bar La Fontana Vecchia and the fountain itself, located in a tiny piazza on the Corso Vittorio Emanuele. For this one I was standing in the tower of the Seminario Vescovile, founded in 1851, just next to the Church of St Francis.

Hi Andrew, nice idea, finally something of different from Noto, far from the classic postcards always seen on TE. Great view on the staircase and fountain, and a very professional exposure of the different light levels,i like it! Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

Hello Andrew,
Indeed, an original picture of Noto.
Not too many tourists in the street when you were there.
Nice view from above of the houses and their tiled roofs.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Andrew,
Splendid downwards point of view onto the village square. Good management of the light helps create a particular mood. The people nicely animate the scene, whilst the steps, wall and fountain supply some interesting graphical elements. Very good technical quality.

Hello Andrew,
for some reason, I thought (and looked for) Commissario Montalbano in this setting, I think it's the bird's eye view, the fine, characteristic details and the natural colours that made me think of this magnificent tv series. Also the decisive diagonal of the road gives me a sense of anticipation, as if Montalbano or the bad guys are about to enter and cross the street any minute. Your dynamic and elegant composition has added charm and interest to the typical scenery. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,
Ourania

Hello Andrew,
It is so interesting to have an unusual view of a historical place.
We can begin to understand the layout and the relationships of the buildings to each other.
I like how you have used the steps and how you have composed the cobbled street on an opposing diagonal.
The details are sharp, whilst the figures animate and add a sense of scale.
I love how the rectangular parasols link across the street; we never usually see them from this angle!
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Hi Andrew, You appear here quite rarely :(. I had recently the view from the tower, and your picture is also taken from the tower, but not so high. Beautiful small square with the old fountain and the building all in the same style. Two nice trattorias, lovely view of some people.

Hi Andrew
A clever street shot of an interesting old town from a good view point with plenty to see and be tempted by.
I especially like the figures, shapes combination and diagonal touch. Nice shot, Congrats
