Photographer's Note
I took this picture from a hotel window in the beautiful old town of Modica in Sicily. Initial thought was to take the photo of Modica panorama that was in front of me, however the sun was not on a good side ... so I looked down and found a new theme.
Modica is a city in the Province of Ragusa and it is part of UNESCO Heritage Sites.

Very intriguing and eye-catching. I love the atmosphere and how you've placed adequately the elements in the frame. One regret: I wish someone would walk down one of those stairs.
Best,

Hello Zuzana,
Thanks to your hotel window, you were granted and awesome high POV over those stairs. Normally i prefer the presence of human figures to give idea about the size of an architecture, but here the result is so nice that, there is no need for a human being. The exposure and overall contrast are great. At the very bottom of the photo, I can even admire the shadow of the door on the ground.

Deniz

Bonsoir Zuzana,

Bravo

Really unusual picture from Modica. I love the colours in the middle of grey. Composition is superb and makes me think what could be behind the gate...
My compliments,

Hello Zuzana,
You have a wonderfully artistic eye. I like this multilevel view of the staircase, the colors and textures as well as the simple framing. This particular composition immediately evoked memories of MC Escher's Ascending, Descending. Warm regards,

Hi Zuzana!
Thank you so much for the welcome and for your observations on my Rio de Janeiro's photo. Of course I will keep posting further photos of Brazil and of the MAC. ;-)
I can see you have been in different places in Italy... I live in Italy: did you like it?
I was fascinated by this photo: there is something surreal dominating the composition as if the subject were not real... It immediately reminded me of Escher.
Beautiful combination of colours, balance among the parts, interesting shadows. And the row of bottles in the foreground gives a detached picturesque effect to the photo.

Brilliant photo, Zuzana!
Interesting how important the wire is to the composition, bringing the eye back from the most distant steps to the area around the red vase.
Best wishes,
Winifred

Hello Zuzana
For some reason I missed this one but now I have another chance, seeing it in the critique page of TE !
Very graphic, much elegance, nice contrast between the almost b&w staircase and the golden tiles, nice inclusion of the iron door at the bottom of the image
Excellent quality, a real good one Zuzana !
Bravo

Hi Zuzana
Lovely geometric composition, created by having a great PoV. I wonder if you could have waited for someone to walk into the shot? Just a thought. It's great without the human interest.
