Photographer's Note

This was taken, I think, in the summer of 2001 on Etna, Sicily.

I was up there helping a friend who had a press pass, so therefore we could get closer to the volcano than normal. Having said that, this photo was taken from quite far away. You physically cannot get too close - too hot & too dangerous.

A tripod was used, the film was Kodak EBX 100 ASA . The exposure was probably f2,8 with anything from 15 sec to 1 minute ( there was a lot of bracketing ).

It does need some PS work, sharpening & even cropping the scan so the frame sits straight! I haven't learnt any PS yet & should really be spending my time doing much needed DIY on the flat.

Must get back to painting the walls.
