Photographer's Note

Today I present to you another very particular caterpillar, in the 2 WS you can see a different angle and the adult moth. Its design is reminiscent of a series of smiley faces with mustaches, maybe whoever created the smiles was inspired by him? It is the caterpillar of the moth "Cucullia verbasci", quite easy to find because it is always well visible and very colorful.
The mullein moth (Cucullia verbasci) is a noctuid moth with a Palearctic distribution.
t is found in western, southern and central Europe and North Africa. However, there are only individual finds from Denmark and southern Estonia in the north. The eastern presence extends to western Afghanistan. It is also found in Israel and Turkey. In the Alps, it rises up to a height of 1600 meters.
