Ancône (Ancona in Italian) is a city of about 100,000 inhabitants, capital of the Marches and chief town of the province of Ancona in Italy.

Ancient walled city of central Italy with a rich past and Greco-Roman medieval church, Ancona has an active port on the Adriatic Sea.

Its activities are mainly related to fishing and intensive agriculture and diversified its hinterland, industries hydrocarbon refining and shipbuilding, handicrafts, wood and textile factories of particular musical instruments and lace his fame. Leaving the furniture industry in Pesaro and especially the university outreach in Urbino, Ancona is also an art city and resort in the Marche.
