Palace of the Popes - ViterbornrnYesterday I had planned to return to Viterbo, after many years, unfortunately it was not possible for me, I was consoled by looking at old scans.rnThe Palazzo dei Papi in Viterbo was built on commission by Raniero Gatti in 1266 in order to offer the popes who were guests of the city a safe home. This decision coincided with the initiative undertaken in 1257 by Alexander IV who, worried about the political instability present in Rome, considered it appropriate to transfer the papal see to a city where it was easier to reorganize the Guelph resistance.

A diagonal POV shows the beautiful old decorations of the dacade and the stairs in front with two ancient styled columns on the elevated bridge, Silvio.
The man going down the staies case was a nice bonus to the scene.

It's an impressive building seen from a good angle with several strong diagonals. The man walking down the steps is a good eye-catcher in spite of the interesting architecture.

This scan has worked very well, the colours are what you would expect!
I like how you have used the steps, emerging from the corner, to act a guide towards the main body of the palace, where the details of the decorated windows and castellated wall are clearly seen.

A marvel, this Romanesque-Gothic palace, a long staircase for the exit of the characters and a splendid façade with a succession of beautiful windows.

You captured this grand building from an excellent angle, which shows lots of fine details on and in front of the façade. The light was pleasant as well and that lonely passer-by is also well included.

A beautiful palace that you can reach with a long staircase and a bridge over a street (I guess).
Nicely decorated windows.
The battlements on the roof remind me of a fortress.
