Vallerano (VT)
The place where Vallerano stands has been inhabited since very ancient times, the first traces of settlement seem to date back to the Bronze Age. The presence of numerous Etruscan tombs, used in later periods first as homes and then as barns, stables and closets to store food or to house pets, testify to the Etruscan origins of Vallerano.
After 300 BC, with the defeat of the Etruscans in the battle of Lake Vadimone, the entire territory became dominion of Rome.
At the fall of the Empire, the barbarian incursions with devastation and destruction, depopulation and abandonment of housing settlements also here.
After the eighth century Vallerano probably entered the Patrimonium Sancti Petri.
