Room of the Globe

The Mappamondo room is one of the most beautiful rooms in the whole Palazzo Farnese di Caprarola. The Sala del Mappamondo is so named because on the walls the world known in the mid-16th century is depicted and it has the meaning of celebrating the geographical and astronomical knowledge that in that period knew an enormous impulse. The decoration of the Mappamondo room of the Farnese palace in Caprarola is placed between November 1573 and December 1575.
