Photographer's Note
Basilica di Santa maria in Trastevere is the first church that I visited in Trastevere. It's beautiful. The present church was built in the 12th century, but the original church was built in the 3rd century and it is one of the oldest churches in Rome.
It is also very pleasant to sit in one of the cafes in the square (piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere) or sit on the steps of the fountain at evening and listen to amateur musicians in the square.
