Photographer's Note

Rome, piazza Navona.

In the earth of the historical centre of the Eternal city, next to the Pantheon, the famous square sets on the place of the ancient Domitius stadium (I st. c.), keeping its form.

The square, masterpiece of the baroque architecture has 3 fountains : the Neptune fountain (north), the Four rivers fountains (by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, 1651) and the Moorish fountain (south).
the Four rivers fountains with its obelisk face the Santa-Agnesa-in-Agona church (by Francesco Borromini, the rival of Bernini).

The square attract a lot of tourists with its restaurants, cafés, ice-cream makers and street artisits... but also a lot of pigeons which like perch on the statues.
