Photographer's Note

This is Piazza della Rotonda, one of the most beautiful squares of Rome because of the Obelisk (which you can see) and the Pantheon (from which entrance I took this image).

The Egyptian obelisk measures 6.34m in height, and 14.52m with its cross and pedestal. Emperor Domitian brought the obelisk to Rome to adorn the temple dedicated to Isis and Serapis in Campus Martius. It was rediscovered in 1373 and Pope Clement XI moved it to its current position on the fountain by Giacomo della Porta in 1711.
