Photographer's Note

Bologna town hall is called Palazzo d Accursio after the name of the Italian jurist Accursius (1182 - 1263), a lecturer at the University of Bologna.
Since 1336 it was the seat of city government, today it houses the Municipal Art Collections.
The Town Hall consists of a set of buildings built between the 13th and 15th centuries in a variety of styles. Over the portal is a large figure of Pope Gregory XIII, he commissioned the development of the Gregorian calendar, which is used to this day.
