Photographer's Note

Trani is a seaport of Apulia about 40 km northwest of Bari. The main monument of Trani is the Cathedral, which is also called Cathedral of St. Nicholas the Pilgrim. It lies on a raised open site near the sea and was consecrated, before its completion, in 1143. It is built in the characteristic white local limestone. The vicinity of Trani produces an fabulous sweet desert wine, Moscato di Trani.

The Volkswagen Type 1, more commonly known as the Beetle or Bug, is an economy car produced by the German auto maker Volkswagen from 1938 until 2003. Although the names "Beetle" and "Bug" were quickly adopted by the public, it was not until August of 1967 that VW itself began using the name. Speculation suggests that its peculiar styling, underpowered motor, rough ride, and high noise levels should have made it a market failure. It was in its day, though, more comfortable and powerful than most European small cars, and ultimately the longest-running and most-produced automobile of a single design.

This picture is a scan of an original analogue print. The tight crop was triggered by other cars that were parked there, but I like the effect. Art is finding what you're not looking for.
