Photographer's Note

Inspired by Guntram, I tried to take a panning picture of a bus. It came out to be harder that I thought. I took about sixty pictures in two days. This one is not perfect, I'd rather have the whole bus in the frame, but it's the sharpest one.

From my (very short) experience with panning, it seems that it's incredibly hard to get a sharp picture with an exposure longer than 1/10 sec. Also, there's a tendency to move the camera faster than the subject. I hope this'll help somebody with their experiments. In the age of digital cameras, it doesn't cost a thing to try and you can quickly see the results, which make experimenting even more fun.
