Ciao Lisa,
Very lovely! I knew it was Ireland the moment I saw the thumbnail...
The light was probably not the best here, the sky looks a bit washed out behind that hill, but you have to work with what you have and the lovely composition sure makes up for it.
Have a great week,
Claudia

Hello Lisa,
I like the point of view here and the sombre tones, which bring a particular mood to the image. Difficult lighting conditions with that very bright area of sky but you have made the best of it I think. Sharpness is OK.

Hi Lisa,
What a superb composition, the house is perfectly placed, the fence posts secure the immediate foreground and the way you've let the hills wander off to the right of frame works a treat. Colours are wonderful and the texture of the stone building is captured with good clarity and sharps. The sky, well there's not much you could do about that.
Excellent shot.

Lisa, It must have been a very bright moment because even the ND grad filter was not enough to get a smooth texture in the sky...all that you have is a washed out sky. and it's unfortunate because it takes more than a third of the image.
You were obviously using a tripod since the image is so sharp at 1/4 of a sec. Why not take 3 frames shot at different exposure settings without moving the camera/tripod and combine them in photoshop? This would result in a well exposed shots all through the frame...
another thing, you were obviously there on a trip and you won't be able to got here soon...So, the next point I'm bringing up is probably stupid, but we're just chatting here, so don't take it too seriously. The sun was setting at that moment, which gives you dull lighting and a washed out sky. So, probably that the best moment to take this scene would be in the morning to get that golden morning gloom on the "house" and a much easier setting for the exposition.
But the colors in the grass are totally awesome and the compo is flawless...
This is so typically Irish! I love it!
see you,
Marc

Hi Lisa, As others have said, the composition here is good, with a nice diagonal formed by the house and hills. It is surprising that with the GND filter the sky was blown out. shame. I like Marc's suggestion regarding the different exposures. cheers, steve

Hi Lisa,
Nice one! I have to wonder what good it did for folks to be exiled to this extremity of that environment, other than to get them away from the general population. Pretty site to explore, though, and well captured by your eye and camera.
Thanks again!

Hi Lisa,
Nice composition and frame, the colours are superb, perhaps a little too much contrast. Still a landscape full of mystery.

Hello Lisa,
Beautiful capture of this ancient stone house and its intricate stone work contrasting with the blue sky and lush green foreground. I like the diagonal POV. It's a lovely Irish landscape.
Kind regards,
Betty
