Photographer's Note
Please view the TE BETA version as the clarity of the windows are far greater DUBLIN ARCHITECTURE.
This will be my final post from Ireland for a while.
I wanted to get to a nice round number of posted shots on my TE Map. This will be #30 for Ireland, ya, call me obsessive, I can't help myself haha. Are there other TE members who do the same?
I titled this one WHERE IS NOEL because Noel used to be a familiar face on TE not very long ago, from Ireland. He posted many many photos from Dublin, and I know he would know what building this is.
Noel's help here would be greatly appreciated. For now, its a mystery. I liked the way the windows of this brick building in Dublin were covered with colourful faces. So i composed a tightly framed shot, trying to do something a little different.
Most of the shots I've posted from Ireland are landscape and nature, so I also wanted to show something from Inner City Dublin. Take a look at the 2 WS photos for more city shots. Some of you may enjoy the WS photos even more because they include people, and thats ok :)
PS - Brenda from NY already helped me out. She looked up the Irish words in the window, and they translate to "inheritance". hmmmmm....

Hello Craig,
I've wondered the same thing about Noel. He seems to have disappeared... This is a cool shot. I like all the red bricks together with the artistic and colorful windows. It seems like this display is a 100 year commemoration of some kind, but who exactly are all these people? I looked up the Irish words in the window, and they mean "inheritance". It's nice when a photo makes you look something up and learn something new. :-)

Hello Craig, I like the tight framing here that concentrates our eyes upon the brickwork and the many faces at the windows.
I ought to spend some time trying to identify them. It is obviously some centenary year, but I don't know why.
I like the workshop pictures too. Dublin has some charming buildings.
As to 'rounding' the number of shots from a particular place! No it has never occurred to me, in fact I don't even look at the numbers very often.
Which will be the next place to have its' numbers 'rounded' off?
Kind regards
Jean

Hello Craig,
An interesting series of pictures of facades from Dublin.
They are very colorful, especially those in the workshop.
Very well done, fine presentation.

Hi Craig,
The pictures in the windows are an eye-catcher. The point of view is showing the details of the buildings and of the picture. May be these people left something by their works to Ireland. Have a nice day.

Hi Craig
A good architectural photo from Dublin and I'm afraid I can't help with either the building name or Noel's location.
The large version has great detail - brickwork always looks better in the large version.
cheers

Bonjour, cher Criag,
J'aime l'originalité des photos de personnages affichés sur les fenêtres, l'on a l'impression d'être surveillé !
Les autres compositions sont tout aussi intéressantes à découvrir et à apprécier.
Amitiés.

Hello Craig
Yes, where is Noel? He was a regular contributor and posted some great photographs.
This picture is a visual delight with the brickwork providing so many pleasing shades, shapes and patterns that make a superb background for the colourful portraits. The WS pictures are superb too and could have made main posts on their own but of course that would have disturbed the arithmetic :).
Cheers!

Hello Craig,
I can't quite help you out on what this is, but I think the portraits show famous Irish writers and maybe other persons from Irish cultural life. Obviously they were there to highlight the centenary of something happening in 1916, so I guess it's about the Easter Rising of Irish republicans against British rule, in which many writers and poets took part in their own way. Although not a typical "street shot" this is the kind of photo I really like, and I would gladly have taken the same one if I had been there. The WS are both "my kind" of photos which I would be looking for if I would go back to Dublin. Which isn't completely unlikely. It's been 51 years since my last visit. As for Noel, I could recall dozens of TE members who just got tired of the site and left.
Best wishes,
Gert

Hello Craig, Noel has stopped Te, i appreciated him very much, it's a pity. The red brick building windows are decorated with colorful people faces. I don't know who are these persons, maybe famous people. Original idea, good pov.

Hi Craig. The red pub in the WS is a nice gift for a bartender like me, but of course the main photo is truly magnificent. Post different from this nation after so many landscapes and photos of great class without a doubt. I have never looked at the number of posts from every nation, but you who love precision have made a round figure. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Craig,
Oh yeah, I know what you mean, I like round numbers too (as you can see with my photos from Germany and Ireland as well and I will probably try to get Malta to 20). I vaguely remember this building in Dublin. I like the brick architecture a lot and the many colourful faces stand out nicely too.

Hello Craig I was so frightened by the phantom stories when I was a kid; later on I refused to believe all the hogwash but today you created a little bit of doubt in my mind in consequence of this stunning picture! Many years ago when Twitter and the others were not invented, people had to sit by the their windows to get informed of the latest news in town! That's why I feel harassed by all these sharp eyes on me; ok, I've not always been a saint in my life, but nevertheless...!!
Magnificent capture of the extraordinary! Cheers

Hello Craig,
Where's Wally as well, haha! It looks like the 1975 album cover of Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin. Good sharpness and tight framing. Tfs!

Ciao Craig
Noel sarebbe stato un valido aiuto e anche un bravo fotografo.
Hai fatto bene a concludere il tuo ciclo irlandese includendo anche la città con tre belle foto.
Saluti

Hello Craig, I missed some photos during my Russia trip. Interesting view of the portraits in the windows. I have seen similar ideas in different places, also in St Petersburg (with the personages from Dostoyevsky).
Pity that Noel has left the site. I haven't met him in Dublin either. Good composition.
Have a nice day

Hello Craig,
I thought just the very same, quite a while ago, indeed where is Noel? hope he is OK and just busy.
Figures on the windows in same pattern, of course each pan is with different person.
The flag addec good sense of depth to the round corner scene.
Have a nice new day,

Hi Craig,
This is a nice, original post, with all these colorful faces posted in the wwindows. They really brighten up the building, which is already very interesting and stylish with the arched brickwork over the windows.
I can understand this exhibition being called “inheritance” : It probably shows faces of Irish people who have made a difference to their country ?
As for Noel, I don’t remember him, I must confess.
TFS and kindest regards. Marie-Louise.
