Photographer's Note
Seljalandsfoss is a spectacular waterfall on the ring road in southern Iceland between Selfoss and Skogafoss. This waterfall of the river Seljalandsá drops 60 metres over the cliffs of the former coastline. It is particularly famous as it is possible to walk all the way behind it (you can see the path on the right here).

Hi John,
Your pp handling and colour treatment is impressive. Every single detail is been taken care of, i like such dedication. Those people on the left look like small dots, but they are essentiel for scaling in this wonderful landscape. Clouds are pushed, ocean nice blue, deep green an yellow all over the place. The only thing i would like to see was more fram the fall, the upper part. Maybe a three horizontal exposure stitched above each other?
Anyway, an impressive landscape which i would like to see myself (maybe next year) and trying to make at least the same quality as you have in your Iceland shots.
A great shot, i really like this.
Regards, Henk

Hello John,
I do not know how to say how I like this photo, the grey sky modulated by the clouds, the lighted background, the foreground in a smooth shadow, the falls which seems to come from the sky and those green saturated colors which remind me the Velvia slides I used before.
Definitively, Iceland is a dreamy country.

Here is indeed the photo which gives envy to go to see of our eyes this magnificent waterfall!
It is impressive. The persons seem tiny next to this fall of water. Moreover it seems to fall directly of the sky, colors are magnificent.
I allow to put it in my favourites!

Hello John.
What a remarkable shot!
Superb viewpoint and very good use of the extreme wide angle lens. I think you got the shutter speed just right, to capture the water - not too sharp or too blurry. The colours and light are breathtaking, and the view down to the spectators, who look so small, is superb. The detail on the rock face at the right is very sharp, and on top of everything you have that sombre, brooding sky, contrasting with the white water of the falls. Magnificent.

Andrew

Hi John,
this as another one of your "killer" photos.
The colors are absolutely amazing.
I dont like the growd of people in the rear, but that is probably my own personal opinion (I always try to avoid people whenever possible).
Anyways the light makes this one unique.
Its always a pleasure to browse your photos.
Thanks,

John,
Fantastic shot of this waterfall. The lighting and colors are outstanding with great sharpness and DOF. The longer exposure gives the falls an even more powerful look. The people to the side on the walkway gives a sense of scale of the scene.

Hello John,
You have captured the famous Seljalandsfoss with an exquisite composition that put tourists. The depiction of falling water by an appropriate shutter speed is excellent, also of the yellow field and clouds in the background too.
Have a nice weekend, Hisashi

John,
the backpart POV is a real surprise. Nice to see the crowd at the left side staring at this real nature wonder. The weather and light conditions gives the perfect dramatic backdrop. What surprises me somewhat is the horizontal frame but that was probably mandatory to take the crowd into the shot. I wonder about the real size of thisplave taking into account that you weren't able to take it all in with your wide angle lens. Henk's suggestion is doing a stitch seems the only way to get the whole scene into a single presentation.

Great atmosphere. The overcast weather is captured gorgeously. Of course the waterfall is the star attraction here, but the weather really makes this shot unique. Great colors too. The inclusion of the people is good to show how massive this waterfall is.

first of all let me say congratulations for the beautiful travelogue which is truly useful.
About the picture once again you show us your immense talent in capturing such a beautiful moment. The view is simply breathtaking with the compo so well enhanced by the smalness of the people before the power of the nature..amazing!
I'll be back in Italy in October, and this time I really look forward to meet you..even if only for an autograph!

Hi John.
A beautiful picture with fresh colours. The dark sky in the background is important I think and creates a good opposition with the bright colours of foreground. I have been here in february and it 's completely different. I have posted a workshop without the tourists. It gives a scale for the waterfall, but without them, it increases the feeling of lost world. TFS.
Kind regards. Samuel

Hello John,
a lot of pictures of the waterfalls here on TE, taken with long exposure, but I your shot is really different, the unusual point of view with the upper part partially cropped gives me the feeling of being behind that beautiful water curtain. Well seen, you have found a brilliant POV.
Bravo

Taking time to visit your album, we can find a lot of amazing shots in which the nature is the heroe. In this one, we can see the power of how the elements can build a landscape and how small we are.
