Day 2 - Reykjavik - Vik

I had seen photos on this waterfall on the web (in particular on TE !), but when I saw this Skogafoss waterfall, I just could say "wooooooow" ! Moreover we had a double rainbow that day, just magic !

Skogafoss waterfall sits on river Skoga close to the village of Skogar on south coast of Iceland. They are 25 metres large and 62 metres height, which make them among the largest waterfalls in Iceland. Thanks to permanent spray, you can often see one or even two rainbows on the waterfall on sunny day.

Bonjour Olivier,

This is a magical capture — the double rainbow with a detail of the spectacular waterfalls. The individual in sharp focus on the ridge adds a human touch and scale. This, I hope will gain the attention on Trekearth that it deserves.

hi olivier,
wow, what a very dramatic composition you have created here. the figure in the foreground is a great inclusion to add context to the scene. the waterfalls look so powerful and full of energy against the lone figure. wonderful effect with the rainbow perfectly placed.

Hello Olivier,
I can only join and say "woooow".Really beautiful waterfall and example how unique the nature can be.Moreover I like the way you framed the scene.Great chosen close-up and addition of this man gives perfectly sense of scale of this waterfall.And of course the rainbow,which brings some nice color contrast and so pleasant atmosphere to your composition.Magnificent photo!

gran bella foto, ottimamente posizionato l'uomo, che risulta essere minuscolo in confronto a tutto il resto.
Splendide le linee tracciate dalla luce che attraversa l'acqua.

Great capture of the double rainbow but how lucky you were that the man is wearing striped clothing that seems to reflect the shape of the rainbows. Well seen.

This shot is beautiful! I like the wall of water that frames the left side of the photo, and the rainbow is so bright and magical. That man looks so tiny standing beside this giant waterfall. I can only imagine how loud the noise is when you are standing in that spot.

Là, ça fait mal!Très impressionnant avec cette masse d'eau qui semble tomber sur la tête du lilliputien et cet arc-en-ciel double. J'imagine ce que cela doit donner avec le bruit en plus!

Bonjour Olivier,

Il est vrai que ce gros plan sur la chute d'eau est impressionnant et donne vraiment l'impression de puissance et de majesté des lieux. La personne apporte une idée de la taille de la cascade. Pour chipoter, je dirais qu'il est tourné dans le mauvais sens : j'aurais préféré qu'il regarde vers les flots, tournant le dos à l'objectif.

Je comprends le "wowwwwww" que tu as ressenti et que tu as su restitué de belle façon avec ce cadrage vertical de circonstance.

On sent bien toute la force de l'eau et le mouvement arrêté de ces vagues est très attrayant.L'utilisation de l'arc-en-ciel pour cadrer le sujet est réussi.

Salut Olivier,

Je confirme, mais ta photo le fait déjà très bien, cette chute d'eau est vraiment photogénique. J'en avais gardé un bon souvenir.
Pour chipoter, une posture un peu trop posé du modèle, mais ça fait aussi parti de la réalité du lieu.
En tout cas, pour le cadrage, c'est du tout bon.

This is my first time to see this waterfall on TE, but wowee, what a spectacular place! A double rainbow alone is amazing, but with that waterfall, it creates something very special indeed. Brilliant idea including the man giving us an idea of the vast scale here.

The open space in this picture and
the great composition makes the
picture very exciting: as viewer
you can feel and hear the water.
Light management is also great and
the rainbow is a nice extra, like
a cherry on a delicious cake.
