Photographer's Note

Getting a photo of Kirkjufell was high up on my list of priorities before landing in Iceland.

When we arrived here it was obviously covered in snow and lots of Ice. Depending on which area of the county you're in, the climate changes dramatically.

For example if you drove down to the capital city on the same day it would have only a hint of snow.

We have plans, no exact dates or anything, but we soon want to return to Iceland in the summer months to see the difference. I plan to get this exact same photo but when the landscape is green.

You may not notice it, but there IS a waterfall in the photo - its just frozen! There are 3 waterfalls on the left, and i'll one day capture them in much warmer temperatures. For now I hope you'll enjoy this cold scene of Western Iceland.

The atmosphere was on the verge of snowing, and it did only a few minutes after the photo was taken, thats why the sky is grey-looking. As for the people down below, I have no idea who they are but they had the same idea as us - we were the only people around for miles.

thanks for looking
