Photographer's Note
I had to take another look at my drone photos from Iceland...and yes, there are still more I can post.
This is certainly one of those shots where the photo itself doesn't do it justice.
Please view it in the larger format by right clicking.
This drone shot was taken in the North Western region, early in the morning as i'm driving around all the Fjords. I literally could be standing here naked, and nobody would care because nobody drives here haha. This is why I love driving these rural areas in Iceland, its so peaceful and untouched.
The drone is at a height of 875 metres or 2870 feet.
The picture quality is so clear, its quite remarkable how these drones are of such high standard.
I hope you appreciate the beauty here

Hello Craig,
What an awesome aerial view. It looks like you were on another planet. I like this mountain that's right up in the foreground, while the colorful water and flatter landscape lies in the distance. I hope all is well. Take care!

Hello Craig,
Wow indeed! The mountains look amazing from this bird's eye perspective, the shapes, both smooth and rough, look great and the contrast with the calm blue lake is wonderful as well. Great shot!

Hi Craig,
This makes me dream of flying. Drone angle still makes wonders to imagination. And Icelandic landscapes are like no other. I especially like shadows on the right showing land forms. And signs of erosion made by water.

Hello Craig,
Thanks for your comments on my latest photo. But what should I say about this? 'Amazing' is becoming a cliché, but that's the nearest I can get, for the incredible scenery and for the astonishing sharpness of the drone camera. There should have been a church or an abandoned farm on top of the mountain, just to reveal the dimensions. Knowing this was taken from 875 m metres is pretty good information anyway.
Please show more. I know you will.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Craig,
The wideness of the area is creating depth, The lens of the drone is very good. The point of view is showing the details of the mountains. There is a good contrast between the colors of the picture. Have a nice day.

Hello Craig,
When you see landscapes, like this, you begin to understand where the Icelandic Sagas originated! Where stories were shared round fires and passed on by generations. Magic and animals, family knowledge and disputes, became incorporated in these sagas.
You can see the how the landscape looks like something from mythology! Your drone had the perfect camera angle to capture this amazing scenery! The mountains appear as if made from descending tongues of lava ... or maybe a scene from from another planet!!
Thanks for sharing this,
Bev :-)
Hope you and your family are staying safe.

Hi Craig
Looks like New Zealand. A superb aerial shot with good colour, sharpness and framing. The blue lake at top left adds a stunning colour contrast. Tfs!

Hi Craig,
You were lucky to get such a sunny day. The landscape looks incredible from up here, and probably looks incredible from the ground too. Great sharpness and exposure. When you said you walk around nude and nobody would care, I expected you to say "because Icelanders are like that".

Hy again,
I agree with you. Its really amazing. I guess you took it with your drone. Oh, I nearly forgot the statue on the left of my photo is a memorial to the heroes of the 1956 revolution. If you wanted to ask why are they naked, I cannot really answer it. :)
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hello Craig, It deserves many wows :). Fantastic view. Drones it is really a revolution in photography. The new possibilities are fantastic. And the drones have very good cameras - the sharpness and colours are perfect. Eryk has also a drone, and the photos are fine, but where to use it? in many places, it is not allowed, also in Iceland or New Zealand, but you don't care as I observed. You just use it quickly :). I would be afraid that I lose control when the distance is far or if it is high. You are brave and we can admire the results.
Not driving a car, I have no chances to see these parts of Iceland. And organized trips are usually very expensive.
Now, when the trips are still difficult or impossible and I almost have left TE, I learn languages in the free time. I started to re-learn Mandarin, it is fun. What about you? Do you learn Chinese?
Best regards MAlgo

Hi Craig Two thousand feet is high enough to drop parcels surreptitiously in jail yards without attracting attention. But of course drones can also be used to raise a camera toward the unreachable sweet spot to capture the hidden majesty. So I consider you can handle the remote with great confidence in yourself for such masterworks!
Cheers

Hi Craig,
amazing point of view here. The sight is stunning!
The mountain or volcano was nicely placed in the frame. The view of the sea in the distance adds a lovely decorative touch. The drone must have travelled quite high up!
Excellent work,
M

Hello Craig,
It would be incredible if there were a mountain that you could climb to see such a fantastic scenery.
Both the foreground and the table mountains that rise at the edge of the water in the background are very impressive.
Have you never had any regrets that it is impossible to see with your own eyes what the drone is photographing?
Best regards, Paul

lovely this aerial view showing the beautiful shapes of these mountains with few vegetation. a pity I am not a so goof driver to rent a car while abroad. in these rural roads would be easy but in unknown towns I would be in panic.
