The Patreksfjörður waterfalls, a photo from Vestur-Bardhastrandarsysla, Vesturdir

Photographer's Note

When you discover the Patreksfjörður fjord, the most southern fjord in Western fjords, you can see waterfalls everywhere, flowing down from the heights of the fjord. This waterfall was taken by the road 612 on the south side of the fjord. I used a grey filter, a 10 seconds exposure and of course a tripod for this one.

This waterfall is close to a famous photo spot in the area : a shipwreck. This was our first goal for our photo walk but the light was poor so we did not make great photos of it. I post a photo of this shipwreck in workshop anyway.

Cette photo est assez originale car elle conjugue une excellente capture en pose longue , au premier plan , et une capture plus naturelle de la cascade , le tout dans un magnifique décor rocailleux .

Bien cadrée cette cascade et ce ruisseau, bon effet avec ce premier plan et ce filé d'eau bien réalisé, bon effet de profondeur d'image.

Hello Olivier,

Yes, this is definitely the better of the two shots.

It is a great visual impression of the character of Iceland, with its many waterfalls and rocky shores.

It's a fine exposure.
The details are texturally superb!
I enjoyed following the course of the water, over the rocky f/g to path beside the waterfall.

Une vitesse lente donne la bonne touche au rendu de ces petites cascades au premier plan.Beau rendu naturel des teintes et bon rendu des textures des roches au premier plan.

Hi Olivier,
Wide and low angle gives a special view for this little waterfall. From further up to close view on the bottom. Stream is not big, I guess most of the water is under the gravel when it passes the foreground.
