Islandic farm, a photo from Gullbringusysla, Sudurnes

Photographer's Note

This small islandic farm on south west coast of Iceland is situated a few kilometres south of Hafnarfjörður along Rekjanesbraut or road 41, the main road between Reykjavik and Keflavik. Hafnarfjörður is a port town about 10 km south Reykjavik.

Hi Ulf,
Simple and very attractive image. Recently, I've seen a documentary about that country and the strong connections between the people, their land and their spirituality. Lovely world there!

The farm on the seafront, and the green lawn surrounding, well captured in good taste, Ulf - mild sea color contrast well with the simply built houses.
Horizontal crop was a wise decision.

Hej Ulf,
Detta är nog en vindpinad plats, men de röda stugorna bland den frodiga grönskan ger ett välkomnande intryck och ljuset och färgerna är väldigt behagliga. Island hör fortfarande till de vita fläckarna på min världskarta. Kanske hinner jag pricka av detta fina land innan det är slut med resandet.

Den här gården ser ut att ligga precis lika ödsligt som man föreställer sig att de flesta isländska gårdar ligger. En vacker bild som får mig att tänka på Arnaldur Indriðason och hans böcker. Kan rekommenderas!

This is the type of photo from Iceland thats so real...I was lucky to visit Iceland last year for 10 days, and this type of scene can be found all over the Island...its beautiful, rustic and charming all at once.
peaceful and quiet too, especially with the ocean in the bg.
