Day 8 - Landmannahellir - Landmannalaugar

On the 8th day of our trip in Iceland we went to Landmannalaugar. Landmannagaular is a range of mountains in the south of Iceland. It is a volcanic landscape : lava fields, craters, ashes fields, champs de cendre, fumaroles, etc.... Landmannalaugar is famous for its fantastic colours that make it one of the most spectacular places in Iceland. To discover the site we walked a few hours Laugarhraun, a lava field in the heart of the site.

This is where I took this picture from. It shows Landmannalaugar camp. This camp is veru busy in summer because the place has a good reputation for walkers. Left of the green buildings, hidden behind the lava field, there is a natural geothermal hot spring. I had a bath there, 40°C hot water, it is the best bathroom I've ever been lol

You can see a view on the hot spring as workshop.
