Photographer's Note

You show already the spring pictures, I am still (virtually) in white and cold Iceland. Other pictures from my hiking to Reykjadalur Valley. I liked the view of this bridge all covered with ice. You can imagine how fun it was a bit farther to change to the swimsuit. There was no special place to change, fortunately, I had two towels, so I could stand barefoot on the towel and not on the snow. Even more fun was to change again after the bath. rnrnReykjadalur valley, in the vicinity of Hveragerði town, only some 45 km away from Reykjavík. The hike starts from the parking lot where you first cross a bridge over a river and a hike on a gravel trail up the Rjúpnabrekkur Ptarmigan slopes, leading to Reykjadalur hot steam valley. The hike is 4 km long one way with plenty of photo stops. The trail is at times steep and narrow and a bit slippery. I have simple crampons but I didn't know I would need them and I left them at home :(. I found the hike a bit difficult. In one spot there was a canyon with a beautiful waterfall cascading down into the valley.
