A last photo of Hverarönd hydrothermal site bottom of Namaskard pass. Here is one of the steam wells you can see there. The steam contains sulphur that makes some bad smell. Some light sulphur sediment gives some yellow corners to the stones around the well. The steam is hot, so you have to be careful ! The well is of course not a natural one. It is what remains of diggings made in the 70s. But the diggins were difficult to control so they were abandoned. One of these diggings triggered a small 3 tons lava eruption in 1977, the smallest volcanic eruption ever !
