Photographer's Note

One more shot in J÷kulsßrglj˙fur canyon, in Northeast Iceland. And a nice bluye sky for this one ! We drove on the F862 road track on the west side of the river and made a break in Hljˇaklettar site. You can walk there in the middle of strange rocks. This are lava plugs from former craters that were eroded by the river. The basalt is stronger so it resisted to erosion and created these surprising chimneys. They are quite high as you can see if you have a look on the signs at their bottom !
