Photographer's Note

Laufįs Church at the Turf House in Eyjafjöršur, Iceland. Laufįs church was built in 1865 by Tryggvi Gunnarsson and Johann Bessason. It is influenced by classical architecture, not least by the Church of Our Lady in Copenhagen, Denmark, and like the farm, it is a testament to the ambition of the keepers in their time. The church is well equipped and includes a pulpit that dates from 1698 by Illugi Jonsson.
