Photographer's Note

One more shot of this wonderful rainbow over Road 1 close to Möðrudalur plateau. Commenting my previous shot of this rainbow, Baclama asked if Iceland was rainbow land. And yes, it is the case ! The weather conditions can change very fast in Iceland, so you can have sun arriving while a shower (and there a lot in Iceland !) is not finished yet, perfect conditions to have raibows indeed. I traveled a lot in another place who is said to be a rainbow land : Ireland. But there's nothing common with Iceland ! We stayed a few days in the east and north of Iceland and we could see a lot of rainbows, all of them in late afternoon. Sometimes we even had double rainbows such as this one and this other one over Berufj£ordur fjord, the day before (I had posted this picture a few weeks ago). But this rainbow over Road 1 was probably the most impressive one because of its strong colours and its duration (we could see it for about 15 minutes !). Anyway, on next days we could see other rainbows, not so impressive, but in more beautiful places that this road ! Iceland, not only the ice land, but also the rainbow land !
