Photographer's Note

Krisuvik site or Seltün - not far from Lake Kleifarvatn. The site is known for the diversity of geothermal phenomena which manifest themselves: solfataras, fumaroles, bubbling mud pots, geysers and sulfur deposits to create a disturbing scene. In 2000, the site has exploded following the silica deposits in pipes near a geothermal plant.
