The Snowy Eger 1, a photo from Heves, East

Photographer's Note

Last Friday I paid a short visit to the snow covered Eger. Real winter has arrived finally. I start my series with my favourite photo from on day, which shows the hairy boot from the '2020/2021 Winter Collection' and the inevitable face mask in the hand.

Leica M8.2, Voigtlander 28/1.9. PP done in Silver Effex, Low Key. I chose this elaboration, because it highlights the woman from the dark bg duu to the light rays falling on her, which hides some other pedastrians being in the wrong place (growing from the woman's head)

Hello György,
The workshops, especially #1, would probably earn you more points, but I recognize you better with the main photo. It's slightly dark, but the woman is placed in one of the small light areas. It's not easy to see that she's holding the face mask in her hand, but I trust your word. I guess the hand is as useful as the chin. This season's winter collection in Sweden does not include hairy boots, as far as I have seen. Maybe we had them in the 1970's.

Hello Gy,
The photos in the WS show this beautiful city in a different way than your main photo.
All three are of high quality. My preference is for your WS1, but I acknowledge that you have mastered excellently the contrast between light and shadow in your black and white photo.
The woman with the hairy boots is surely highlighted from the background in the shade. Maybe she is a fan of Bigfoot?

A fine impression of the town on a sunny winter day. The play of light and shadows are the façades of this alley is very appealing. The passer-by is well included in the foreground, just as the church tower in the distance.

Hi Gyorgy,the big cold is arrived and what a great opportunity to take "fresh" pics from Eger. 3 fantastic shots,the main is a masterwork talking about perspective,lights and the black and white version is a perfect choice. Nice to see that no trace of growth found on her head but the catch light is a real gem of this shot. Well timed off-centre, lovey moody atmosphere that you managed to create.
