Photographer's Note

One of my favourite streets in my favourite capital. I was completely enthralled by Budapest when I first visited in 1993, and, compared with Prague the year before, found its architectural treasure all the more appealing for the matter-of-fact approach to all. By 1997 the faded grandeur look was being replaced by tasteful restoration. This place looked as though it had survived in pretty good shape without much work.
