Photographer's Note
"One can find some really stunning murals in Budapest, like the one in the crossing of Király and Kazinczy streets. The artists of the group Neopaint gave this huge wall a brand new look – with clouds and balloons and other fancy stuff – not only to cheer up the playground below, but to draw attention to the problem os many untended walls in the city..."
...taken at a playground on király street...

Hello Korkut
Your note about the colourful mural makes the choice of bl/w (though in style, of course) a very bold one. Even if this one is one of the empty walls, I wonder how it would be in colour...then again, the picture in itself probably is stronger in bl/w. And the bl/w also fits in with the excellent title you picked.
Just enough sharpness & motion blur on the swinging child, and a careful composition does the rest. Great picture.

Dear Korkut,
It is an interesting mural, but what makes this composition excellent is the way you have managed to feature the old couple into it - creating a sense of humanity, rather than just a plain wall...

Hello again Korkut
You're playing those tricks again! Your note stresses the importance of the mural to the photograph and refers to the really stunning artwork, and briefly I considered whether the swinging child were part of it. Of course not. The break in the wall offers an interesting and slightly unsettling disjuncture in the painted landscape; the child is about to swing out of the frame; the old couple are engrossed in their own affairs: so we have another of your surreal photographs. Dali springs to mind; or more pertinently, Man Ray.
Regards
Will

I really like this photo, it has something old-fashioned, the softness reminds me of how film used to look like, where the moment was more important than sharpness and pixels...
the line in the middle almost put me off, for a moment I thought the little girl was part of the mural... :)
hugs,
c.

Hi Korkut
I thought it was a false picture, but seeing your colored original, I understood the line in the middle of the picture. There are 2 situations in this shot: the young girl swinging, taken at the peak moment though her feet are still moving, and the old couple gently seated, opposition of behaviour and of age
Cheers
