Photographer's Note

The flag holder and the Cantus Praeses (the leader of the chorus). Holding and carrying the flag of the faculty next to the dean and the deputy deans at the front of the procession is considered to be a honour for a student, though a very tiring honour. The flag is really heavy, so there are always two of them, changing shifts during the walk.
In the WS you can see some of the deans and their deputies escorting the graduating students to the 'gates' of the city. This tradition dates back to the old times, when graduating student were escorted and dismissed at the city gates by their professors. And kicked in their butts by their fellow lower grade students, if you remember the notes from my earlier uploads. :)

PS: Please don't associate this torchlight procession with any far-right ideologies! It dates back hundreds of years.
