Photographer's Note

Stoupa is located in the SE part of messinia, inside Mani area.
Almost 46km away from Kalamata, and not more than 40 minutes driving, a small heaven in Messinia, as the beaches, crystal waters, graphical passages, and stone houses, combined with Greek traditional food and way of life, contribute in the best way for vacations.

The famous Kalogria beach near by the village, is one of the most touristic areas in Messinia region.
This photo was taken from inside the village.

Some notes for the shot:
This photo shows how simplicity can be mixed up with everything. Thankfully I'm not the only one in TE who is doing this :)

- This picture has a simple content yes?
- Does it relaxes you?
- Does it create a feeling?
- How many colours do you see?
- Does any of these colours bother you?

Some rules say, don't mix many colours in your composition, it will drive the viewers crazy, do it simple!. I certainly broke that rule. Sometimes breaking the rules for a higher purpose its fun and more creative. Therefore this photo follows many rules (1/3 horizon, 1/3 yellow sand, 1/3 red sand).

I hope most of you will agree with me, by checking the workshop which shows the original JPEG shot and comparing it with this version.

EXIF explanation:
I wanted a clear shot, so the water could look crystal and sharp, for I set my Aperture Priority program f/14.
My speed was low I could never get a frozen capture.
So I increased my noiseless ISO to 400, and shutter speed gave me 1/100 which was satisfying in my wide angle 18mm reception.

A polarizer filter was used as the enhancement of the colours could never look that way if not used.

RAW Post Processing Notes:
- Whitebalance warm crazy!
- USM tool over layer
- Sky and village soften by eraser tool and removing the USM
- Some levels adjustment
- Saturation crazy!
- White frame added
- Title added
- JPEG Optimized for TE ready

Thanks for viewing!
