Photographer's Note

Sifnos, lies in the Cyclades islands between Serifos, Kimolos and Antiparos and is about 80 nautical miles from Piraeus

Sifnos Island is part of the Western Cyclades and is a beautiful region, with whitewashed houses with coloured windows and wooden balconies, with lots of churches and chapels, with stone-paved streets and alleys and some sandy beaches. Unlike some Cycladic islands, it has many verdant olive trees which add a touch of green, among the dominating bright white and blue
There are 365 churches and monasteries, one for each day of the year.
The churches are all built in the traditional vernacular architecture, with round domes, sometimes blue, contrasting with the bright white of the rest of the church, sometimes entirely whitewashed.

Stopped at a small momastery, right near to the road, driving to Vathi.
