Photographer's Note
Because I have mentioned Great Britain in my titles to photos from Athens twice before and not necessarily in a good context, some people may expect that I will continue here to complain about Britain stealing the Greek national treasures. This time for a change the “Grand Bretagne” is a name of the luxurious hotel which you see in this photo. I wanted to demonstrate here that Athens has much more to offer than ancient ruins, Byzantine churches or soldiers in charming uniforms. Basically, you can find here everything you want. Great quality cuisine in affordable prices, world class shopping opportunities… you name it. This is a photo from Syntagma Square, which is lined with elegant façades. It is the same square at which, you can watch change of the guards in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Hello Mariusz,
A great photo of this large building block, including the large hotel. I really like the pattern of the many windows. You also included the bridge very well, it makes a good diagonal in the foreground. The woman makes another good addition and adds some life to the view.

Hi Mariusz
Not another cause for you but Great Britain has also been under lots of pressure to return a lot of Aboriginal relics from Australia.
And .. an appropriate photo for you to post. A good photo of the main square.
cheers

Bonjour, cher Mariusz,
Voilà une image peu commune de la Grèce. Un édifice de grand luxe baignant dans un environnement charmant.
Un choix de présentation original.
Amitiés.

Hello Mariusz,
This is a very different view from those you have presented previously but gives us a more complete understanding of what the city has to offer.
You have chosen a good aspect for your photograph, the marble urn fixing the f/g, whilst the railings guide neatly to the vast facade of the hotel. The lady makes a lovely interruption, along the way and, as we stop, we notice the Greek flag!
Fine, sharp exposure as usual.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hello Mariusz,
When I saw this picture I immediately knew where it was taken.
I recognised the hotel building and its name.
But all the times I was in Athens, I never thought about taking a picture of it.
Every now and then (like here) I notice that someone shows a splendid photo of something that I have indeed seen but considered 'insufficient' to photograph.
Maybe in the future I should think twice about what I see? Or three times.
You also know how to give the photo a good foreground so that more depth is obtained.
Best regards, Paul

I passed in front this hotel but I didn't climb the area in front the palace, probably because I thought it was prohibited.. a nice view from a different POv showing a new angle of the city.
take care

Hello Mariusz,
The woman in tan adds a nice warm cold colour contrast with the blue tones. I walked trough the square several times. This hotel was a bit over my price range. I stayed in Omonoia, which was much cheaper, as was the al fresco dining. Tfs!

Hello Mariusz,
I reckon this luxurious hotel is just across the Syntagma sq., as I remember, sure conveys a grandeur look to the surrounding.
Marvelous picture, well lit and sharp outcome.
Happy holidays,
Ike
