Photographer's Note

Few days ago, I have returned from family holidays on Crete. I was actually aiming at Bulgaria but my holidays there were cancelled so I have booked Crete instead. Until the last minute I was not sure whether I should pack or not. British government has a list of countries which are declared safe to travel and it is being updated on Thursday evening. Then you have a time to return to the UK by Saturday 4am. If you arrive back one minute after 4am you must quarantine for 2 weeks but if you manage in time you don’t. It was the first week of school so for my daughter missing it would be terrible and so we were quite stressed. Whether Greek government cheated on the results or not, we are extremely happy that we managed to go for those holidays without the need to quarantine.

The place which you see in this photo is probably one of the most picturesque on the island. I will show more photos from there because it is so beautiful. This view is may be not the most impressive, but it is the widest which I took and so it can give you some orientation. It was taken from the mainland towards the famous Balos Beach. Far in the distance on the right hand side you can see the Gramvousa Island which I also visited. I will tell you more about them later.

I made an exception here uploading quite a large file so it is worth to right click on the photo and select “view image” or “open the image in a new tab” to see it in a larger version.
