Photographer's Note

A group of Russian visitors (Russians are Christian Ortodox, like Greeks are) admiring the fantastic frescos in the church of Great Meteoron. Those frescoes were painted between 1483 and 1552, most probably by Tzortzis, a great iconographer of the Cretan school.

Great Meteoron, is the greatest, oldest and most important among the monasteries of Meteora. It was established by Athanasios "Meteoritis", a monk who climbed up on the huge rock around 1343-1344.

*I decided not to "fix" the perspective and wide angle distortions, I thought it enchanced the feeling of "convergence".
