Photographer's Note
Sifnos belongs in the west Kyklades islands complex of Agean Sea. This island is rocky, as all of them, with very few plantations and windy most of the time (but mostly in daylight). So inhabitants (being more ecological than former Greeks) were using the “oil” of nature to power their agricultural activity.
This one stands on the backbone of the mountain that forms the island, close to the beautiful village of Artemonas surrounded by the blue sea.
Originally a film slide, was scanned by a Nikon coolscan 4000 as a tif file.

Hi Dimitris
very beautiful the stairway leading to the mill, from the shade to the warm and marvelous light of the Greek islands. A good shot that brings me with great nostalgia to the Mediterranean shine of Greece.
Excellent well balanced composition and with splendid colors.
I wish you a good day

Hi Dimitris,
Very Greek view with blue sky, white chalked structures and stairs. Sidelight shows the round form of the windmill well. The wings seem to be somewhat squeezed to the left edge.
