Nisyros

Nisyros (Greek: Νίσυρος) is a volcanic Greek island and municipality located in the Aegean Sea. It is part of the Dodecanese group of islands, situated between the islands of Kos and Tilos.

Its shape is approximately round, with a diameter of about 8 km (5 mi), and an area of 41.6 km2 (16.062 sq mi).Several other islets are found in the direct vicinity of Nisyros, the largest of which is Gyali.

The Municipality of Nisyros includes Gyalí (pop. 21) as well as uninhabited Pacheiá, Pergoússa, Kandelioússa, Ágios Antónios and Stroggýli. It has a total land area of 50.055 km2 (19.326 sq mi) and a total population of 1,008 inhabitants.

Hello Danos,

I like the elevated vantage point and the repetition of the white washed houses. The small protected marina adds a focal point and the bg terraced quarry is unusual. Tfs!

Hello Danos,
This is a fine view from what I think is one of the lesser known islands of the Dodecanese group. The port looks very well protected and the piers are graphically attractive. The colours are superb and the photo has a fine clarity.

A glorious sea view taken from good shooting angle and wealth of delicious colours to work with. That is delicious turquoise blue! really is this blue shade when it comes naturally. The foreground coastal town balances the whole scene creating an excellent colour contrast with abundant of good detail. It's breathtaking to look, accentuated by subtle warm light. Enchanting imagery, Congrats.

Hi Danos,

The distance between the port and the horizon is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the houses, of the harbour and of the mountains. The good luminosity is making the colors to stand out. Have a nice day.

Hello Danos,
A great view of the small town with its white houses and port in the foreground. The view of the cliffs on the other side of the very blue sea is great too. I really like the contrast between the two parts. Very well captured from this high POV.

We can spot a lovely village with elegant white houses.
Great view further to the other islands. I had the pleasure to be on Kos few years ago.
I think recently they had a earthquake there.
Beautiful scenery, very inviting to explore the area.

looking at your gallery page, its pretty easy to pick this one out. it made an immediate visual impact with me with its bright light, strong blues and whites. and you topped it off smartly with the mountain range. funny to see all the white BLOCK homes :) cheers

it would be perfect to visit each greek island, but I suppose even you being greek never will be able to know everything.
very nice this view showing the small village and its white cubic houses and port while in the BG we can see a mount being dismantled, maybe because its marbles.
