Photographer's Note

Karpathos is the second largest of the Greek Dodecanese islands, in the southeastern Aegean Sea.
The island is located about 47 kilometers southwest of Rhodes,in the part of the Mediterranean which is called, after it, the Carpathian Sea - Carpathium Mare in latin. The island's 2001 census population was 6,511 inhabitant.
Karpathos is spectacularly beautiful, with wild, rugged landscape, mountainous in the north, dry in the south, with wildflowers - paradise for naturalists.
Karpathos has also extensive beaches with white sands which are often empty.
My picture is from narrow road over the highest village of Karpathos - Othos 510m altitude.
The road leads to the plateau under the highest Karpathos mountain, Kali Limni (1415m), which is often lost in the clouds. The road offers the best view toward the sea and the south eastern part of the island, on the horizon there is a neighbouring island Kasos.
