Photographer's Note

The people about to board the catamaran have gathered on the dock of the port in Pothia, the most important town in Kalymos and in the northern part of the Dodecanese. It's also the administrative centre of this area and used to host more civil services before the crisis made most of them retreat to Rhodes, the region's capital.

Kalymnos kept a leading role in sponge diving for many decades. It's an arid, mountainous island and in recent years has become a very popular for the rock climbing thrills it offers.

The passengers' next destination could be Kos, Symi or Rhodes.
