Photographer's Note

Methoni fortress / castle was built in 1209 by the Venetians and occupies the entire area of a promontory on three sides surrounded by the sea. It is separated from the mainland by a deep moat, the entrance to the fortress leads through a stone bridge with 14 arches (until 1829 it was a wooden bridge).
