Photographer's Note

Metoni is a port town in the Peloponnese, about 1,100 people. This is a tourist destination with attractive beaches and historic fortress /castle built on a rocky promontory. It is surrounded on three sides by the sea and a wide moat from the side of the land. The castle served, in part, military functions, and in part served pilgrims who were traveling through Crete and Cyprus to the Holy Land.

Unfortunately, I had to cut the bottom part of the photo, I would have a view of the garbage containers, not the fortress :)
