Photographer's Note

A couple of weeks ago, I visited Messinia Prefecture, in order to cover a very special "rural" carnival, in Nedussa, a beautiful village hidden in the heart of Taygetos mountain. In this extraordinare "carnival", are rescued customs that are 4.000 years old.

I had to wake up very early in the morning to be on time in the village and see the ceremony from the beginning, including the preparations. The first thing I do every morning is check about the weather. When I opened the door of my hotel room, close to Kalamata town, the weather was bad, but the spectacle was beautiful. So, here's a view of the Messinian bay, very early in the morning on a "heavy", cloudy day.
