Photographer's Note

The area of Feneos was first inhabited at Neolithic times, and is the place where Hercules spent his childhood. In a fertile plateau between the mountains, with impressive geological characteristics such as the natural water draining pits that lead the waters underground, the archaeological site of the ancient city of Feneos, the beautiful artificial Doxa Lake, surrounded by black fir trees and the historical monastery of St. George that used to be headquarters for the Filiki Eteria during the Greek War of Independence, will all charm you.

There are many more places to see around Ziria: the villages Goura, Mesino, Kastania, Karia, Evrostina, Likouria, Sofiana, Laggadeika, and Manna are definitely worth a visit, and so is the wider Corinth area, all the way to Kalavryta and Klitoria.
