Photographer's Note
the recent fires in Greece was the theme of my two previous TE posts and here is another photo i took those days.
this is an ex-forest near my village two days after the fire burned down everything and made the environment monochromatic.
i placed the fullframe fisheye close to the rear window of my car trying to create an extra wide perspective with two different versions of the scene in the frame as well as the sun, and also include some strong color which balances the composition - in my eyes at least. (i had to clean the glass first because it was full of dust.)
i later scanned the negative and used some software to get it closer to what i saw.
thank you :)

Ooooh wow!
I never really liked reflection pictures on mirrors, cars, etc. (reflections on water i like, though) But this one ROCKS!!!! And it makes you think also. (A shiny car and a burnt forest...)
You did a great job including the bright red color of the car. Damn, why do I even try to say something clever. I know I can't anyway. :D
It's beautiful. Thanks.
anu.
Edit: Oh, and I'm really sorry to hear about what happened in that area. Greece is a beautiful country, shouldn't suffer from things like this. But it sure gave you some good photos. :P

Hi Kostas,
I think you have a great imagination to create this composition where 99/100 people would see nothing so interesting. The fish-eye certainly adds to the effect.
Cheers,
James.

Salut Kosta
Excellent perspective. I feel your sadness. But you have managed to create something of beauty from the ashes.
Well done

Hello Kostas - a very unique use of the fisheye along with the close placement to your rear windshield, to capture this incredible scene! The dashes of color really add to the impact of this harsh plot of land.

you have made a great composition in this unfortunately desolate place. Very good perspective and tilt.

Great photo Kostas, place and reflection on the car are amazing and I much like your idea and the composition of this image even if the main subject is sad because the fire destructions, but very well done, compliments.
Have nice week

Wow! Very creative composition! Stark contrast and the bit of your red car make this quite impressive. I hope the people and environment in your area can recover eventually!

Hi Kostas,
this to me is a great picture! Not only it refers to a very sad event, but it bursts of creativity. Of course the fish-eye helped a lot but you had the idea and made it happen! To include that red car...red as blood, in contrast to the bright grey dominance of the image...this goes to my favourites, my congratulations...

Hi Kostas,
That's a great testimony of such a disaster! the red of the car contrasts so well with the monochromic environment! In fact it is very strong as the color reminds of the fire rescuer vehicules. The distorsion in the window reflection is very well seen. It looks like you have one side an image coming from a nightmare (through mind distorsion) and on the other side, the reality itself that doesn't differ much unfortunatley from the nightmare image.
I like your work!
Pris.
